Scholarships

Scholarships are very important for students interested in going to college.  Below is a list that is updated as new scholarships arrive.

Scholarship deadlines for colleges and universities are often earlier than the application deadline.  Students should go to the Universities website to obtain this information for any and all institutions they are interested in.

Students should create an academic resume that includes their extracurricular activities, honors and awards, employment, and community service.

Letters of recommendation should be requested early.  Students should obtain 3 to 5 letters.  These should include: 1 to 2 from teachers, 1 from an administrator such as a counselor or an assistant principal, and 1 to 2 from community members like an employer, youth minister, or an adult with whom they have done community service.

Students may also wish to create a profile on www.cappex.com.  This website generates a scholarship list based on your interests and college major.
