What is Beta Club?

The National Beta Club is the nation’s largest independent, educational, youth organization. Our purpose is to encourage and reward academic achievement, and to promote those qualities of character, that make for good citizenship. Our members learn to live by our motto, “let us lead by serving others”. Students interested in becoming involved in their school and wanting to help their community should join. The club usually has one service project per month to complete, and each individual must complete 30 hours of community service on his/her own per school year. One-time dues for new members is $35 and for returning is $25.


Why join Beta Club?

All Beta Club members are invited to attend the Texas State Beta Club Convention. Betas may compete in various academic, arts, and speaking competitions, as well as run for state office. Also, eligible members may qualify for scholarships. The National Beta Club Scholarship Program offers over $250,000 in scholarships to outstanding Beta Club members in their senior year. Over 200 scholarships are awarded each year. They range in value from $1,000 to $15,000.


Who may join Beta Club?

Any student in good standing with a 3.0 GPA or better may join Beta Club. The Induction Ceremony is held August 28th at 7pm, with refreshments to follow. If you are interested in joining Beta Club, you must contact the sponsors before August 28th. You must bring proof of your GPA – last year’s final grades if you are 10th-12th grade.

Communication:

This year, we will be using Remind and Schoology to communicate and track attendance/hours. We will go over how to join our Schoology Group our first meeting. Please see Mrs. Bristol in A122 before or after school is you need help signing up or using Schoology. To sign up for Remind, please text @annahsbeta to 81010.

Beta Club Members: The first mandatory monthly meeting is ​Monday, August 21 at 6pm in the Lecture Hall.​ If Returning Members do not attend, you will be dropped from the Beta Roster and then must reapply.

  • All monthly meetings are mandatory and will be held on the following dates:

No February Meeting- Convention Month Monday, March 5th at 7:00pm Monday, April 9th at 7:00pm Monday, May 7th at 7:00pm

  • You must make arrangements to be at ALL meetings.
  • All dues must be paid by our second meeting (September 11th)
