This new calendar year is off to a running start! 

1.)   Candy fundraising for State Conference is underway.  State Conference is April 9th - 11th.  All delegates attending this conference have been contacted besides a few alternates.  A deposit of $125 is due by Spring Break, and it can be earned through candy sales or paid by the individual. The remaining balance is due before the conference.

2.)   Our other big event coming up is the District 3 Spring Conference.  It is Saturday, Feb. 25th.   The cost is $20.  We're running for District Board President, so we're having rehearsals for our campaign skit. 

3.)  We will also be rescheduling our Feb. meeting because AP Night falls on the same night.  The new date will be sent out through Remind.

Canned Food Drive: November 7th - 11th.  Through 4th period classes. 

Last Purple UP Day of the semester is tomorrow, 11/4!

• If you work more than the required amount of hours, you will earn community service hours. For those of you in Beta Club, you will need 25/50 hours. Friday, August 12, 2016 is a teacher workday, and they LOVE help getting their classrooms ready!

Schedule Pick Up and Picture Day (SPUP)
• 8/11 Juniors 9-11 AM
• 8/11 Sophomores 1-3 PM
• 8/12 Seniors A-K 12-2 PM
• 8/12 Seniors L-M 2-4 PM
• 8/16 Freshmen 4-5:30 PM
• MANDATORY  for all StuCo to work two days: you may choose to work 8/11 or 8/12. EVERYONE must work 8/16.
• You must wear your black STUCO shirt with jeans. You have to be visible to students and parents.

Fish Camp
 Thursday, August 11, 20166:00 PM-8:00 PM 
• MANDATORY for all StuCo
• You must wear your Fish Camp T-shirt. If you don’t have one from last year, you’ll have to buy one, $8. They will be on sale for FR for $10.
• Wear bright bottoms (within dress code) with your FC shirt. We will have leis for everyone. Please bring swim stuff as well, ex. goggles, snorkel, floaties, etc.

Mock Schedule
Tuesday, August 16, 2016, 5:30 PM-8:00 PM
StuCo will act as guides to help students/parents get to right classrooms.
• Sophomore-Senior StuCo may meet teachers as needed before FR SPUP starts at 4 PM.
• Freshmen StuCo will NOT work during the Mock Schedule; they may go through the schedule to meet their teachers.
• Ag teachers will be set up within the main building or maybe the courtyard that faces the AG building.

Monthly StuCo Meetings (for the entire group)
• 6:30 PM in the library on the second Monday of each month unless stated otherwise. Because you’re receiving this list of dates so far in advance, work is NOT an excuse to miss a meeting. You may miss only one meeting a semester. UIL events (ex. volleyball GAME) and other SCHOOL events are excused. CLUB sports practice/games are NOT an excuse.

Officer Elections
• Officer elections will be held during the first meeting, August 29, 2016
• You must be present at the meeting in order to run for office. 
• You must have worked a minimum of 15 hours within the last three weeks to be eligible to run for office, worked SPUP Days, and Fish Camp.
• Anyone may run for class office. 
• You must have been in StuCo last year in order to run for student body office.  

Football Program
• If you are not performing on Friday nights, you must take a turn selling programs. This is our biggest fundraiser all year – approx. $3,000. Everyone needs to help if not a varsity football player, band member, or cheerleader.

Homecoming Week 
• September 19-23, 2016
• Coronation and game are September 23, 2016
• Dance is September 24, 2016. You are required to help decorate for the dance. You are required to go to the dance; you do not have to pay for yourself.
