Starting your day off positively is important and can set the tone for the rest of your day.
Anna High School athletes are helping to contribute to this idea. Every Friday during the football season, the football players are greeting pre-kindergarten through fifth grade students at Bryant, Rattan and ECC as they are dropped off.
Lindsey Miller, mother of two elementary students shared her appreciation of this Friday morning ritual. “I can't tell you all enough how excited my children get on Fridays when they know the football boys are going to be out there to get them out of the car! The way they interact at the elementary schools with the kiddos is just top notch. They tell them good morning, help them out of the car and tell them to have a good day. When my kindergartner gets to school, the football players are there to high-five her. The respect and sincere enjoyment that I saw from these boys today was astonishing. They genuinely looked very happy to be there. These young men are doing great. I'm so glad that our youngest of Coyotes have great role models to look up to and that y'all put them in each other's worlds like this.”
The efforts of the athletes have had a double-positive effect as it starts their day off on a positive note, as well. Josiah Ivery, Junior, states, “It makes me feel good to see the young kids’ smiling faces as they start their day. It is very heart-warming to me.”
