Over Spring Break, five Anna High School students and one teacher took an Italian trip. Mrs. Taylor, Brennan Boone, Jacob Holcomb, Juan Sanchez, Alexy Schofield and Lauren Taylor visited Verona, Venice, Florence and Rome including Vatican City. For some of these students, it was their first international travel experience, for others, it was their first time traveling by airplane. The students said that they were in awe of the art that they saw while in Italy. Alexy said that her favorite venture was “taking a gondola ride through the canals of Venice” while Brennan said that his favorite adventure was “going to Florence's cathedral, the Duomo” which stands tall over the city with its magnificent Renaissance dome. He also said, “the pictures online do not do the scenes justice!” Jacob said that his favorite sites would have to be between Florence and Venice.  He said, “it was awesome to travel abroad and see new places he hadn’t seen before.” Jacob discussed how “in Rome, the Colosseum was right in the middle of everything.” Juan said that his favorite sights were the museums and sculptures and said that “it was cool to see the things that you study in history--to see the pages come to life!” Juan also said that “it was amazing just to be able to experience culture first-hand: the food, musicians on the street, and the art.” Juan said that he was “glad that the school offers students the opportunity to have this experience of a lifetime.” Italy2
