My name is Laura Reyes Williams, and I am honored and excited to join Anna High School as an Academic School Counselor. I bring 18 years of experience in school counseling, all of which I have served as a Lead Counselor, supporting students, families, and school communities through academic, social-emotional, college, and career development.
I earned my bachelor's degree from Boise State University and my Master of Education in School Counseling from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to creating a supportive environment where all students feel valued, empowered, and equipped to achieve their goals. Building meaningful relationships with students and families has always been at the heart of my work, and I am passionate about helping students navigate challenges, celebrate successes, and discover their unique potential.
Most recently, I served as the Lead Counselor at Slayter Creek Middle School, where I had the privilege of working alongside an incredible team to support student growth and success. My counseling philosophy is rooted in the belief that every student deserves an advocate, a trusted support system, and opportunities to thrive. I strive to foster a culture of encouragement, compassion, and high expectations while helping students develop the skills and confidence needed for their future.
Outside of school, I enjoy staying active and recently completed my 30th half-marathon. My husband, Vincent, and I are especially enjoying this season of life as our children are now adults, which has given us the opportunity to travel, explore new places, and create lasting memories together. Faith and Family are incredibly important to us, and we cherish every opportunity to spend time with our loved ones.
I am truly excited about this transition to Anna High School and look forward to partnering with students, families, staff, and the community. Anna ISD has become home to me over the years, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving in a district I deeply care about. It is a privilege to support students as they prepare for their futures, pursue their dreams, and become the very best version of themselves.
