Howdy Coyotes!
My name is Jessica Reeves, and I am the Lead Counselor here at Anna High School. I am a Fightin’ Texas Aggie, class of 2001. Whoop! I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas A&M and then completed my Master of Education degree in Counseling at Sam Houston State University. I am certified as a School Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). This year starts my 20th year in education; how time flies! On a personal note, I am known as the counselor that loves dogs! My office is covered in all things Pawsitive! I have three pups (Vivian, Beau, and Cadbury) and one cat with an attitude named Salem. I love fishing on the lake and making memories with my family.
My experience as a school counselor has encompassed elementary, middle, and high school and college advising for Blinn College. I am passionate about supporting students in their journey toward developing their future goals and navigating the path to reach them. Doing what you love fosters a life of purpose and happiness.
I look forward to working together as a team this year and those ahead. Thanks, and Gig ‘em!
TBD (A-E) - Academic Counselor
Mona Daley (F-Maq) - Academic Counselor
Hello, Coyotes!
My name is Mona Daley, and I am excited to be the newest member of the Anna High School counseling team! Although I am new to AHS, I am not new to the education and school counseling world. The 2023-24 school year is my twenty-seventh year in education and my twenty-third year as a secondary school counselor. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from California State University, Bakersfield, and my Master of Science in school counseling from the University of La Verne. I am a native Californian and have called North Texas home since 2008. My high school sweetheart and I have been married for thirty-three years, and we have two sons and one grand-dog. We enjoy traveling, baseball, and spending time with friends and family.
As an educator, I have worked with middle and high school-aged students. For the first nine years of my career, I was on a middle school campus as a teacher and school counselor. My passion was truly found when I became a high school counselor. I enjoy assisting students through their high school journey and towards achieving their goals, whether passing classes, earning a certification, scholarship, or award, celebrating at graduation, or watching them progress towards their post-secondary goals. There is a saying that it takes a village to raise a child, and I am excited to be a part of each student’s village to help them navigate their way through their four years of high school.
I look forward to working with AHS students and their families this year and beyond!
Mia Coleman (Mar-Ro) - Academic Counselor
My name is Mia Coleman, and I serve students last names "Lp-Ri" at Anna High School. This is my 19th year in education, and I am a graduate of UT Arlington (Go Mavericks!), where I received my bachelor's degrees in Criminal Justice and Speech Communication. My interest in counseling came about in my college minor – Psychology. Later, I completed my master's degree in counseling at Prairie View A&M University (Go Panthers!) I am a certified School Counselor and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). I also serve in the U.S. Air Force Reserve as an Aerospace Medic- I have some exciting medical stories! I have lived in many different countries and spoke different languages. In my personal life, I am a mom of four children a wife to a Coach who is also in Anna ISD. As a school counselor, I have worked with students in grades 9 through 12. This field has allowed me to do what I enjoy most - connect with students and interact with people. I have been fortunate to experience secondary education from many angles: As a Teacher, a Counselor, and parent. The key to my success as a School Counselor is building relationships, visibility, and collaborating with parents as partners in their student's educational process.
Jeff Jackson - Mental Health Counselor
Hi!
My name is Jeffery Jackson. I am one of the Mental Health Therapist at Anna High School! I was raised in Denison, TX (Class of 1996!) and joined the Air Force shortly after. After 20 years of military service, I decided to retire in 2016 and move back to Texas, the greatest place on Earth. I got my Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and received my license as an LPC. This is my 4th year in education, and all have been at Anna High School! I love working with High Schoolers. Seeing the kids grow socially and emotionally while enduring their ups and downs makes my job so REWARDING! I have an open-door policy for all kids to decompress in my office. I'm also easily accessible for all parents/guardians to express concerns about their kiddo and what I can do to help. I also do therapy for crises as well as regularly scheduled appointments. My personal life involves my wife, six kids, and two grandkids! I also have three dogs and two cats, so I stay busy.
I am super stoked about the upcoming year and working with our counseling team to help these kids succeed!
