Academic FAQ

Yes.
Are AP virtual courses available?
Not for 2026–27
If I am a dual credit student and my professor is not on campus every day, do I still have to come to school on those days?
No. If your dual credit professor is not on campus, you will not be required to attend school for that period. This is different from previous years when students were required to attend a study hall on campus. Hybrid scheduling allows you to complete your coursework remotely when your college instructor is not present.
What “Health” class is included in the virtual course options?
The virtual Health course refers to the state-required Health credit mandated by TEA. This is typically a half-credit course that complements Speech or Professional Communications. It is not a CTE Health Science course.
Scheduling FAQ
If I already have late arrival and/or early release, can I still take virtual courses?
Yes. Students may add 1–3 virtual courses in addition to approved late arrival and/or early release periods. In some cases, students could have up to two traditional off periods (late arrival/early release) and up to three virtual courses, potentially allowing for significant flexibility in their schedule.
Final schedules are determined in partnership with your counselor.
Can I choose the period for my virtual class?
Students do not select specific periods for virtual courses. Virtual classes are scheduled in collaboration with your counselor and are typically stacked at the beginning or end of the day to create structured late arrival or early release blocks. Scheduling decisions will consider work, athletics, and extracurricular commitments.
