Choir in Nashville

This last weekend the Anna High School Choir participated in the Barbershop Midwinter Junior Chorus Festival. We sang on the Grand Ole Opry stage. There were 20 other high school choruses that also performed. Last year at this same contest, we received a score on the low end of the "Good" rating with a score of 5.8. This year we had an incredible improvement and received a rating of 13.8 and received an "Excellent" rating. This is a major improvement for the choir, and is even an improvement over our scores in October at the SWD District Contest.

The staff of the event who had seen our chorus last year, were blown away by the improvement we've made over this year. The judges were blown away as well. These students have come so far and I cannot tell you or the students how proud I am. These kids have really put their best foot forward over the last several months. The students have kept each other accountable, and set awesome goals for themselves. We've come along way in a short amount of time, and we'll continue to grow.

The kids thought it was so cool that their friends and fellow students could watch the contest live here on campus. I wanted to thank you all for letting your students watch if they left your class. It meant a lot to the students and me. We should have a video in the next several days for those who missed it.

Thank you for continuing to support our program and our students!
