Gifted & Talented

AHS Gifted & Talented Program

The goal of our program is to provide our students with opportunities that promote: academic rigor, depth, and breadth, acceleration, college preparation, independent research and social and emotional development to nurture full development of academic potential. We do this through:

Advanced Academic Classes - enrollment in 2 or more advanced academic classes (pre-AP, AP, Dual Credit)

UIL - participation in one or more UIL events

School Clubs/Organizations - Students are automatically part of the GT Club but they can also become active member of NHS, Student Council, BETA Club, STEAM Club, Anime Club, Book Club, DENgineers, FFA, FCCLA, HOSA, ASL, Band, Choir, Theater, or any other clubs or organizations.

Schoology - participation blog/discussion/challenge activities in GT Schoology Group

Community service - participate in community service projects

GT Club - we meet weekly each Wednesday during lunch to discuss topics relevant to GT students, plan activities, listen to guest speakers, and to build digital portfolios. Schoology- Students have been uploaded into a Schoology Group entitled “Gifted and Talented”. The students will find resources, discussions, updates, and challenges.
